Winemaking Sumac Ridge Estate Winery was the first Canadian winery licensed to use the term 'Meritage', which indicates that the wine is made using traditional Bordeaux white grapes.
Winemaker's Notes Our Meritage is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that arrive from Black Sage Vineyard and vineyards in the south Okanagan. After ten months of oak aging in only the best French and American barrels, this wine produces great depth of fruit and amazing body.
Food Pairings The resulting wine is crisp and clean, imparting hints of gooseberry, melons and herbs with vanilla oak finish. Try to use the freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc to work for you with food. Rich seared sea scallops or fresh crab would be a delightful pairing.
