Harvest 2005 was a hot vintage with great ripeness. The grapes for this wine were harvested under 4 tons per acre and as a result of a low yield this vintage shows great fruit intensity.
Winemaking A blend of 60% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc. This wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and was barrel aged in both French and American oak for 13 months.
Winemaker's Notes Aromas of blackberry, anise and soft vanilla make way for a palate of soft vibrant fruit. An underlying juniper berry and mouthful round tannins make this wine delicious to enjoy now.
Food Pairings Try this soft round fruit forward wine with BBQ pork tenderloin wrapped in Proscuitto and served with a juniper berry or any sweet berry compote. Also would be delectable with a wild mushroom red wine reduction and a modest addition of roasted fennel.
